Hey There!
My name is Sarah Lesko.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist working in person in El Dorado Hills as well as virtually within the state of California. I am a ciswoman using she/her pronouns. Other identities that I hold are: parent of two littles, second-generation Chinese American, and Caucasian, working on unceded Nisenan land. When I'm not working or caring for my kiddos, you can catch me with my nose in a good book (memoirs or fantasy these days) or on a meandering walk with no firm destination.
My Approach

We all want to belong to someone. A child craves belonging and acceptance from their parent and a parent wants the same thing right back. A romantic partner wants to feel seen and appreciated by their partner. Best friends are intertwined in each other's lives. And of course, we all want to fully accept and love ourselves, to celebrate all of our identities.
When there is conflict or tension within the relationships that matter most to you, distress in various forms including anxiety, depression, detachment, and anger comes to call.
As an Attachment-focused Therapist, this is where I work best. I work with children, adults, couples and families. I especially love to work with the parent-child dynamic, regardless of the ages of the parent and child. I am honored to walk alongside my clients, supporting them in strengthening their relationships, understand themselves better, and make choices that are in alignment with who they are.

Despite using an Attachment-based lens in my therapeutic work, I also draw from other Evidence Based Practices including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems and Play Therapy.

I have additional training in providing inclusive and affirming therapy to folx who identify as LGBTQIA2s+ as well as to parents in the perinatal phase of life.
